EVAP 404 is a temporary shelter — somewhere between a tent and a shipping container — large enough to house a family of four. The whole unit is built from ecological and recycled materials. Its load-bearing structure is timber, with parts that clip together into one complete hut without screwed joints, like LEGO bricks, and no piece heavier than 23 kilograms.
Two people can have the 16-square-metre shelter ready for occupancy within an hour, without using a single tool. It can hold a composting WC and modular furniture that folds and unfolds into a living room, a bedroom, a dining area or a kitchen. Thanks to the timber structure and cardboard insulation, interior temperatures hold longer than they would in a tent.
